Sialkot downs Gujranwala by 2-0 to win inter-district hockey

Sialkot won the match by two goals.

GUJRANWALA (Dunya News) - Sialkot won inter-district hockey championship by defeating Gujranwala by 2-0. Players celebrated their victory doing traditional ‘bhangra’ dance.

The final match was held between Sialkot and Gujranwala in Government Higher Secondary School ground. In a hard fought battle, Sialkot won the match by two goals.

Twelve teams had participated in the championship from the whole division.

Winning team was awarded with a trophy and cash prize of fifty thousand rupees whereas runner-up team was given thirty thousand rupees.

Tournament organizers said that such events would nourish the game and bring out new talent.

Sports make man physically as well as mentally healthy. Tournaments like these being held by district administration to promote hockey are commendable.
