Motorcycling: Lorenzo tops San Marino practice with record time
Jorge Lorenzo clocked the fasted time in practice for the San Marino Grand Prix.
SAN MARINO (AFP) - Jorge Lorenzo, who trails Yamaha team-mate Valentino Rossi by a dozen points in the title race, topped the times with a record lap in practice Friday for Sunday s San Marino Grand Prix.
The Spanish former world champion covered the 4.2 kilometre Misano circuit in a fastest ever 1min 32.871, to shade Honda s reigning titleholder Marc Marquez.
Dani Pedrosa on another Honda took third with Rossi in fifth at 0.598.
