NEW YORK (AFP) - The National Basketball Association s disciplinary committee slapped Los Angeles Clippers forward Matt Barnes and Chicago Bulls forward Joakim Noah with hefty fines Friday for separate incidents involving fans.
Barnes was hit with a $50,000 fine for making comments to the mother of Houston Rockets guard James Harden during the Clippers 115-109 playoff loss on Wednesday.
The 35-year-old Barnes later apologized, claiming he didn t know it was Harden s mom he was talking to.
Barnes has a history of bad behavior on the court. In December he was fined $25,000 for swearing at fans and in January he was fined another $25,000 for "directing inappropriate language at a fan."
Noah was docked $25,000 for pushing a fan in the Bulls 106-91 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday.
He was following teammate Derrick Rose into the locker room after the game when he appeared to reach back and shove a fan, who Noah claimed spit on him.
