South Korea beat Pakistan 4-2 in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup mens field hockey preliminary round match. Irish umpires controversial decision played pivotal role in Pakistans defeat.The match was tied with two goals each during the first half. Skipper Muhammad Imran and Muhammad Zubair scored for one goal each for Pakistan.During the second the Irish umpire gave several controversial decisions including awarding of a controversial plenty corner to South Korea six minutes prior to the close of play. Pakistani team left the field in protest. Skipper Imran was booked and was shown all three cards including green, blue and red card. South Korea qualified for the final while Pakistan would now play for fifth position. The Pakistani coach has lodged an official complaint against the Irish official.
