PCB bans Yousuf, Younis for life

In an unprecedented move, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has banned top players Younis Khan and Mohammad Yousuf for life and Rana Naveed and Shoaib Malik each for a year.PCB also fined Shahid Afridi and Kamran Akmal Rs3million for ball tampering, while Umar Akmal also gets Rs2million. PCB has made its inquiry report public, which contained the revelation that former captain Yousuf and Younis Khan tried to create cracks in the team, which resulted into shocking defeat against Australia in the Test series this year.All-rounder Shoaib Malik and Rana Naveed each banned for a year. Penalty too tough: RameezFormer cricketer Rameez Raja, while talking to Dunya News termed the penalty too tough.He noted that in past, players had been banned for involvement in match fixing, however, he added that banning such good players for life just because of rules violation is incomprehensible. PCB took decision on its own: Inzamam Former captain Inzamamul Haq, while talking to Dunya News, alleged that PCB has taken the decision on its own, adding that the inquiry team has no role in it. Zaheer hails moveZaheer Abbas, while talking to Dunya News, hailed the move and added that such a decision should have been taken earlier.Decision is justified: Taffasul RizviMember of PCB inquiry team Taffasul Rizvi said that the decision has been taken in view of rules violation on part of the players. He said that the probing body made recommendations as per law.
