NYC Marathon returns after Boston attack

The New York City Marathon's security budget has doubled to about $1 million.
NEW YORK (AP) - The New York City Marathon s security budget has doubled to about $1 million after the bombings at this year s race in Boston.
Sunday s event comes after last year s marathon was called off because of damage from Superstorm Sandy. Organizer New York Road Runners had a deficit of about $4 million in 2012 because of the cancellation. Insurance didn t cover all the costs because NYRR decided to offer the option of a refund to runners, many of whom had already traveled to New York before the announcement.
Entrants will be given a ribbon they can wear Sunday to honor the Boston victims.
