Stefan Brandl sets pace for Czech Grand Prix
The German covered the 5.4-kilometer (3.4-mile) Brno circuit in 1 minute, 56.500 seconds.
BRNO (AP) - Honda rider Stefan Brandl posted the fastest lap in Friday s practice for the Czech Grand Prix.
Defending world champion Jorge Lorenzo finished second on his Yamaha in 1:56.538 and Dani Pedrosa was third in 1:56.600 on a Honda.
World championship leader Marc Marquez of Spain had the fifth fastest lap, 0.233 behind the leading time.
In his maiden MotoGP season, Marquez leads the overall standings with 188 points, followed by Pedrosa with 167 and Lorenzo with 153.
Qualifying is scheduled for Saturday and the race is on Sunday.
