ZAO: World Cup points leader Sara Takanashi of Japan chalked up her fifth and sixth victories of the season in the ski jumping events in Zao, north of Tokyo, on Sunday.

The 16-year-old leaped the longest jumps of 95.5 metres and 93.5m for 228.0 points among the 33 athletes to win the 11th leg, which had been postponed from Saturday due to strong winds.

Jacqueline Seifriedsberger of Austria was second on 212.0 points, followed by Carina Vogt of Germany on 207.1 points.

Sarah Hendrickson of the United States, last year s World Cup overall champion, was fourth after jumps of 88.0m and 85.0m for 205.4 points.

In the 12th leg of the 16-round World Cup series, Takanashi marked an amazing 102.0m and then added a 94.0m jump for 240.4 points, beating Seifriedsberger into second on 229.4 points and Hendrickson into third on 222.6 points.

"It was a bit tough mentally," the two-time world junior champion said of her two races in one day.

"But I m satisfied with my jumps, so it was a happy day. I hadn t expected to jump (102 metres). My jumps are getting better and better," added Takanashi.

For Takanashi, who enjoyed her first World Cup win in Zao last season, it was also her seventh victory overall.

In the overall standings, Takanashi stretched the lead on 937 points, ahead of Hendrickson on 707 points. Seifriedsberger, who claimed her first win of the season in Sapporo last week, moved up to third place on 697 points.

The next round will move to the Normal Hill in Ljubno, Slovenia, on February 16 and 17. The event s climax is in Oslo in March with the points leader crowned as world champion.
