Samoa team leaves for London Olympics

Team manager Seb Kohlhase said the Samoan team was small but determined.

The eight athletes who will represent Samoa at the London Olympics began their journey to the games on Wednesday, formally farewelled at a Chinese restaurant in the nations capital Apia.Samoa will be represented at London in taekwondo, judo, weightlifting, archery, athletics and kayaking.The Reverend Reupena Amosa conducted a prayer service for the team at the Treasure Garden restaurant and told athletes when the going gets tough, God gets the tough going.Team manager Seb Kohlhase said the Samoan team was small but determined.He said we have a small team of eight athletes who have qualified but, despite the small number, we have a big heart and are prepared to do very well.
