Spain's PM Rajoy said Friday he will attend Spain-Italy game in Poland.
I am going because the Spanish team are world champions and I think it is good that the head of government be at this inaugural game, Rajoy told a news conference. I think the Spanish team deserves it.He said he would leave at around 2:00 pm (1200 GMT) and be away only a few hours, and that he would attend the inauguration on Monday of Luis Maria Linde as the new governor of Spains central bank.Rajoy said he was making the trip at the invitation of Poland. The prime minister came under harsh criticism on Saturday for remaining silent while Spain reached an accord with other eurozone countries on the bank bailout that could total up to 100 billion euros ($125 billion), and for not admitting that Madrid was about to seek the outside help.
