Berlin prepares for start of World Championships in Athletics (IAAF)
Organizers of the World Championships in Athletics (IAAF) were putting the finishing touches to Berlin's Olympic stadium, with a few changes planned. They say that during awards ceremonies, athletes will face the entire stadium, as opposed to most of the 80,000 spectators just seeing the winners' backs or side views. Another difference at this year's IAAF meeting will be the technical quality of television coverage. There will be much more television equipment than was used during the 2006 soccer world cup in the stadium. The world championships will run from August 15-23.
