Multan: WAPDA equipments theft bid foiled

Citizens foiled an attempt to steal electricity meters and valuable equipment on Sher Shah Road.

Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO)’s electricity meters, transformers and other valuable equipment were being transferred from WAPDA truck to a private truck when people started screaming. On this, the 10 unknown persons who were transferring the equipment fled.However, people captured two accused thieves. Police reached the spot but people refused to hand over the accused to them. Afterward, on reaching the MEPCO officials, people handed over the accused to the police. Chief Executive MEPCO has formed an inquiry committee to probe into the incident.
