The meeting underscored Pakistan's continued engagement with Iran and its emphasis on diplomatic efforts to address regional challenges and strengthen bilateral cooperation.
Earlier, Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has reacted to the results of the US midterm elections, saying a change in political parties in Washington would not alter America's hostile policy towards Tehran.
In a statement, Khamenei said those expecting a shift in US policy following changes in political leadership were mistaken.
He added that those believing American hostility could be ended through concessions were suffering from a serious misconception.
Warning Washington against further aggression, Khamenei said Iran's response to any renewed US attack would be delivered on a much broader scale.
