Summary Kundi said that anyone occupying encroached land would have to vacate it, stressing that he would not recommend or support anyone seeking to avoid action
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has vowed strict action against land grabbing and illegal encroachments, declaring that no one will be granted preferential treatment, even if the property in question belongs to him.
Kundi said that anyone occupying encroached land would have to vacate it, stressing that he would not recommend or support anyone seeking to avoid action.
“If my own house is built on encroached land, it should also be demolished,” the governor said, underscoring his commitment to equal enforcement of the law.
Referring to the Mufti Mahmood Centre, Kundi said the adviser on information had reiterated the previous day that those occupying encroached land should vacate the premises.
He added that the relevant administration would determine the legal status of the centre.

The governor questioned the conduct of individuals who preach justice and religious values while allegedly engaging in land grabbing themselves.
“Those who teach others about justice and religion should set an example through their own conduct,” he said, adding that it was inappropriate for religious scholars to engage in illegal occupation while lecturing others against wrongdoing.
Kundi further stated that the relevant department was examining all matters related to encroachments in a transparent manner.
He emphasised that the law should apply equally to everyone, regardless of position or influence, and that cases involving illegal occupation should be handled through the appropriate administrative process.
