PM directs ERRA to complete development projects at earliest
Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani Friday directed Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA) to complete remaining development projects at the earliest, besides ensuring complete transparency in their execution. Chairing the 11th ERRA Council meeting at the PM Secretariat, the Prime Minister asked the ERRA to meet requirements of the affected persons and address the issues of delayed disbursements, slow pace of reconstruction work and indifferent attitude. Praising Chinas involvement in the reconstruction work, the Prime Minister directed the ERRA to ensure that the projects are completed within the stipulated time period with no over run cost. Chairman ERRA Altaf Saleem while giving an overview of the various development work undertaken by ERRA, informed the meeting about the implementation status of the decisions taken in the 10th ERRA Council Meeting and Prime Ministers directives issued during the meeting. The meeting also accorded approval to the amendments in Urban Development Strategy for inclusion of old Balakot City project. Recommendations of ERRA regarding non-complaint beyond rectification cases of rural housing to be written off with no further awarding of tranche was approved.
