ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the attempted drone attack targeting the holy city of Makkah, saying the incident has caused deep grief and anger among Muslims worldwide.

He reiterated Pakistan’s condemnation of what he described as recent “deplorable attacks” by the Houthis against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, stressing that Pakistan stands in full solidarity with the Saudi people.
“No Muslim could dare even think committing such an abhorrent act,” Sharif said, emphasising the significance of the holy sites for Muslims around the world.
The prime minister also recalled his address before the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, where he said Pakistan had reaffirmed its support for Saudi Arabia and its commitment to peace in the region.
He highlighted the historic Joint Makkah Defence Agreement involving Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan, saying the alliance was not directed against any state.
According to the prime minister, the agreement represents a collective commitment to defence, regional stability and peace.
