Summary Pakistan and Belarus agreed to expand economic and trade cooperation and explore new investment opportunities, with focus on agriculture, industry, energy, technology, skills and digital economy.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan and Belarus have emphasized further expanding bilateral economic and trade cooperation and exploring new opportunities for trade and investment at the ninth session of the Pakistan-Belarus Joint Ministerial Commission in Islamabad.
Addressing the meeting, Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan said Pakistan-Belarus relations were based on mutual trust, cooperation and shared interests, adding that there were wide opportunities to take trade, investment and economic ties to a new level.
Jam Kamal Khan said the two countries had agreed to enhance cooperation in various sectors, including agriculture, industry, energy, technology, defence, health and pharmaceuticals. He said a feasibility study on a joint working group and a preferential trade regime would open new avenues for trade and investment.
He said the signed protocol served as a comprehensive roadmap for sector-wise cooperation between the two countries. Cooperation would also be enhanced in skilled manpower, skills development, the digital economy and the promotion of small and medium-sized enterprises.
The federal commerce minister said the friendship between Pakistan and Belarus would be further strengthened through mutual respect, shared prosperity and a commitment to cooperation. He added that Pakistan looked forward to the 10th session of the Joint Ministerial Commission.
