Summary The Sindh government restored Saturday holidays in all schools and extended weekday teaching hours by one hour across the province.
KARACHI (Web Desk) - The Sindh government has restored the Saturday weekly holiday in all public and private schools across the province, revising its earlier decision that had required public schools to remain open six days a week.
Under the new policy, teaching hours from Monday to Friday will be extended by one hour to ensure academic activities continue without disruption.
According to the Sindh Education Department, the decision has been taken as part of the provincial government's austerity measures and efforts to make more effective use of available resources.
The department said all public and private educational institutions will now follow a five-day teaching schedule from Monday to Friday, with the revised policy applying uniformly across the province.
Earlier, Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah had announced through a social media post that all government schools in the province would remain open on Saturdays. The latest notification reverses that decision and reinstates Saturday as a weekly holiday.
