Summary The Lahore High Court directed the government to seek the DC Lahore's response on an alternative venue after PTI's request to hold an August 5 rally at Minar-e-Pakistan was rejected.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday heard a petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) seeking permission to hold a public gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan on August 5, directing the authorities to clarify whether an alternative venue could be provided.

Justice Mirza Waqas Rauf presided over the hearing on a petition filed by PTI leader Mian Usman Akram.

During the proceedings, the government lawyer informed the court that PTI's request to hold the rally at Minar-e-Pakistan had been rejected.

PTI's counsel argued that the party should be provided with an alternative venue for the public gathering. In response, the government lawyer told the court that PTI had not submitted any application seeking an alternative location.

The court directed the government lawyer to obtain instructions from the Deputy Commissioner Lahore regarding permission for an alternative venue and present the response at the next hearing.
