VATICAN CITY (Dunya News) - President of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Pakistan Bishop of Pakistan, Bishop Samson Shukardin of Hyderabad, has extended invitation to Pope Leo XIV to visit Pakistan.
The Pakistani bishops met Pope Leo in Vatican City and informed him about the situation of Pakistani churches and the Christian community.
Pakistanʼs Catholic bishops have ended their “ad limina” visit to the Vatican with a formal invitation to Pope Leo XIV to visit the country, a move they and Christian activists hope will boost interfaith harmony and highlight minority concerns.
Pope Leo XIV responded positively to the invitation and expressed a desire to visit Pakistan in the future.
Speaking on the occasion, Samson Shukardin said that they had expressed hope for a better future for Christians in Pakistan. He further said that the meeting with Pope Leo was encouraging, and gifts were also exchanged on the occasion.
