LAHORE (Dunya News) - Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said that, by the grace of Allah, a golden era of development has begun in the province.

Members of the provincial assembly called on Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, where matters related to development projects were discussed.

During the meeting, lawmakers expressed satisfaction over the introduction of an organized sanitation system in rural areas under the “Suthra Punjab” initiative, similar to cities, and appreciated the construction, rehabilitation, and expansion of 13,000 roads across Punjab.

On the occasion, the chief minister said that more than 3,000 health centers have been transformed into state-of-the-art health clinics, bringing a significant change in the healthcare culture.

She said that Punjab’s first government cancer hospital and Nawaz Sharif Medical City will be completed at the earliest. She added that the first government autism school is a ray of hope for affected children, while the establishment of the Institute of Cardiology in Sargodha has provided ease and facilities to patients.

She further stated that the Cath Lab project in every district is enabling timely and effective treatment of heart diseases, while stroke management centers are being set up across districts for immediate treatment of paralysis.

Maryam Nawaz said that under the “Apna Chhat, Apna Ghar” scheme, around 125,000 houses are rapidly nearing completion.

She added that the “Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar” project is being launched for unemployed and landless farmers, while electric buses are providing comfortable and free travel facilities to people even in remote rural areas of Punjab.
