Summary Ishaq Dar reiterated the government’s commitment to safeguarding critical energy infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted national fuel supply throughout the country

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar on Monday chaired a meeting of the Committee on Security Assessment of Oil Refineries and Oil Shortage facilities.

The committee reviewed the security arrangements of refineries and other oil storage facilities across the country.

The Coordinator, National Coordination and Management Committee (NCMC), apprised the Committee that necessary measures are being taken in consultation and coordination with all concerned stakeholders, including refineries and oil marketing companies, to ensure the security of these strategic facilities. He also informed that the cost of these additional security measures will be borne by the Oil Marketing Companies.

Ishaq Dar expressed satisfaction over the current security arrangements. He also reiterated the government’s commitment to safeguarding critical energy infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted national fuel supply throughout the country.

The meeting was attended by the Minister for IT, Minister of State for Finance, Federal Secretaries of Petroleum and Interior, and senior federal and provincial government officials.
