QUETTA (Dunya News) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders have approached the Sindh High Court seeking registration of a case against police officers over alleged torture during custody in Karachi.

PTI leaders Raja Azhar and Faheem Khan filed a criminal miscellaneous petition in the Sindh High Court.

According to their lawyer, Muneeb Khattak Advocate, both leaders were allegedly abducted by police officials from Mehran Town, Korangi, Karachi on February 8.

The petition states that the applicants were subjected to severe torture while in police custody, which constitutes a punishable offense under the law.

They requested the court to direct the registration of a case against the concerned police officers.

It was further mentioned that a lower court had previously rejected their plea for case registration based on the police report.

The petition names DIG East, SSP Korangi, DSP, and other relevant officers as parties.

The court is expected to hear the petition soon.
