Two Punjab Police constables were martyred and one injured in a suicide attack at Dajal interprovincial check post in Bhakkar during iftar, officials confirmed.
BHAKKAR (Dunya News) - Two Punjab Police personnel were martyred and another injured in a suicide attack at the Dajal interprovincial check post in Bhakkar district.
According to District Police Officer Shehzad Rafiq Awan, the attack occurred at iftar time at the Punjab Police check post located on a river bridge connecting Punjab with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The DPO said Constables Faheem Abbas and Shehbaz Madni embraced martyrdom in the attack, while injured personnel were shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for medical treatment. One of the injured officers remains in critical condition.
Meanwhile, Inspector General of Punjab Police Abdul Karim paid tribute to the “eternal sacrifices” of the martyred constables. He expressed condolences to the bereaved families and directed authorities to ensure the best possible medical treatment for injured Constable Arshad.
The IGP stated that Punjab Police would not leave the families of the martyrs alone, adding that their welfare remains a top priority. He further said that every officer stands like a “lead wall” against militant threats.
