NEW YORK (Dunya News) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar held important meetings with key officials of Syria, Indonesia and Egypt on sidelines of the high-level meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on Palestine in New York.

In meeting with Permanent Representative of Syria to UN Ambassador Ibrahim Olabi, DPM Dar welcomed recent positive developments aimed at promoting stability and national cohesion in Syria, expressing hope that their effective implementation would advance peace, unity and territorial integrity.

He reiterated Pakistan’s principled position on respect for international law, sovereignty and existing agreements, underscoring that violations of international commitments undermine regional stability and must be addressed in line with relevant #UNSC resolutions.

Ambassador Olabi appreciated Pakistan’s consistent and principled support, and briefed Dar on ongoing efforts toward stability and national reconciliation.

In a meeting with Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono, they reviewed bilateral ties and expressed satisfaction at the depth & strength of the longstanding brotherly relations between the two countries.

The two leaders also exchanged views on regional and international developments, particularly the situation in Gaza and the West Bank, and agreed to work closely for a just, lasting and comprehensive peace in Palestine, in line with international law and relevant UN resolutions.

Recalling the successful visit of President Prabowo Subianto to Pakistan in December 2025, Ishaq Dar underscored its special significance, noting that it provided fresh impetus to bilateral cooperation and reflected the steady progress achieved over the decades.

In a separate meeting with Egyptian FM Badr Abdelatty, they reviewed bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction with ongoing cooperation across multiple sectors, reaffirming the importance of close coordination.

The two ministers also exchanged views on Gaza, the West Bank and regional developments, stressing adherence to international law and the need for immediate, unhindered humanitarian access.
