Earlier, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz praised the people of Lahore for adhering to safety measures during Basant, saying they had lived up to the government’s trust.

“Well done, Lahore. The city is happy today, and so am I,” she remarked, acknowledging the public’s role in ensuring a safe celebration by following rules and regulations.

She noted that the concept of safe Basant was fully embraced, adding that no reports were received regarding the use of banned kite strings.

According to the chief minister, Basant was celebrated safely on rooftops in line with SOPs, and the absence of metallic wires helped protect electricity transformers from damage.

She added that the safe Basant model introduced in Lahore would be extended to other cities as well.
