SWAT (Web Desk) - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has warned that if the notification ordering the evacuation of Tirah Valley is not withdrawn, he will convene a grand jirga of the entire Pashtun nation.

He said there are only three options to remove him from office: the imposition of governor’s rule, his disqualification, or killing him.

Addressing a public rally in Swat, the chief minister said that a notification issued by the federal government claimed that the people affected in Tirah were relocating voluntarily.

He warned that if the notification is not withdrawn and an apology is not issued, he will first call a jirga of the Afridi tribe, followed by a jirga of the Pashtun nation.

He added that if the claim proves false, he himself will take the displaced victims back to Tirah.

Govt rejects Tirah Valley evacuation claims as misleading

He said that no institution should interfere in politics and no institution should object to his name, adding that his name was given by his leader and no one has the right to object it.

He claimed that every tactic was used to prevent him from becoming chief minister, and when no narrative could be built against him, allegations were made linking him with militants.

He said that when all such narratives failed, three options were presented: the imposition of governor’s rule in the province, his disqualification, or killing him.

He added that when the options of governor’s rule and disqualification failed, the final option left was to assassinate him.
