Security measures, including police patrols, have been scaled up in Islamabad.

A special meeting was held with Interior Minister Rehman Malik in the chair.The meeting reviewed security plan arranged for the Centre.The deployment of the Rangers was also suggested in the meeting as a precautionary measure.Likewise, the decision has been taken to enhance the security of official and sensitive buildings.The interior minister directed the police to keep an eye on hotels, guest houses and other public places.
