NORTH WAZIRISTAN (Dunya News) – Two children were killed and eight others injured when an explosion struck a madrassa in the Isori village of Mir Ali, according to security officials.

Initial reports suggest the blast occurred after children accidentally triggered explosive material left behind by militants. The insurgents had planted these improvised devices to hinder the movement of security forces.

Sources added that in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, explosives and landmines were earlier detected across a 114-square-kilometre area. The Pakistan Army has so far cleared 82 square kilometres of this terrain.
