RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Thursday criticised the federal government and the Punjab administration after authorities once again barred him from meeting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail — marking the 10th consecutive denial.

Afridi arrived at the prison with official protocol, but his convoy was stopped at the checkpoint, where a heavy police contingent had cordoned off the road leading to the jail.

The chief minister confronted the officers, questioning why a constitutional office-holder was repeatedly being obstructed.

“You are putting up borders against citizens of your own country,” Afridi told the police, demanding clarity on the restrictions. “You stopped me the day before yesterday and again today. What message are you trying to give?”

He also criticised the police for what he described as the “inhumane treatment” of women — including Imran Khan’s sisters — during a protest two days earlier.

Afridi reminded officials that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was an integral part of Pakistan and that he was not “a CM of any foreign country.”

Blocking a provincial chief executive, he said, sent a dangerous message. “Are you trying to tell the world KP is no longer part of Pakistan?”

The chief minister said he and PTI supporters had always visited peacefully. “We sit calmly here. We do nothing illegal. You are pushing the situation towards danger,” he warned.
