ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) — Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen defence cooperation and deepen bilateral ties, the military’s media wing said on Sunday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the understanding was reached during a meeting between Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza and Chief of General Staff of the Saudi Armed Forces General Fayyadh bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili in Saudi Arabia.

Both sides discussed the regional and global security situation and explored ways to boost defence collaboration.

The two military leaders expressed their resolve to build on the long-standing brotherly relationship and expand the enduring defence partnership between the two countries.

In recognition of his services in promoting strong Pakistan–Saudi Arabia military relations, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza was awarded the “King Abdulaziz Medal of Honour of the Excellent Class.”

The Saudi military leadership also praised the professionalism of Pakistan’s armed forces and acknowledged their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share a time-tested relationship based on military cooperation, economic ties, and shared Islamic values.

In September, both countries signed a “Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement” in Riyadh, pledging that any attack on one would be treated as an act of aggression against both nations.
