DOHA (Dunya News) – President Asif Ali Zardari strongly condemned the Indus Water Treaty violation, calling for global attention to the issue.
Addressing the World Social Development Conference here on Tuesday, President Zardari called for immediate action against Indus Water Treaty violation.
Highlighting Pakistan’s commitment to peace and cooperation, President Zardari emphasized the need for a world rooted in social harmony, equality, solidarity and respect for human rights. “Our vision is one of inclusive and sustainable development where no one is left behind,” he stated.
The President underscored Pakistan’s progress in social welfare, particularly through the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), which he said has become a global model for social protection. “BISP is providing financial assistance, healthcare, and educational support to over nine million families across Pakistan,” he added.

President Zardari also expressed strong condemnation of Israeli aggression in Gaza, echoing Pakistan’s consistent stance on the protection of Palestinian rights. He praised Qatar for its efforts toward humanitarian aid and peace in the region.
The conference was attended by international leaders, policymakers, and social development experts. Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and First Lady Asifa Bhutto also accompanied the President at the event, representing Pakistan’s commitment to global cooperation and inclusive growth.
