Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) core committee meeting held Monday night in the Presidency to review the current situation.The meeting, chaired by Co-Chairman of PPP President Asif Ali and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, discussed ways and means of overcoming the challenges faced by the party and the government.Briefing about the meeting, Spokesperson to the President Farhatullah Babar said that the meeting lauded the announcement made by the Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on the floor of the House to appear before the Supreme Court in response to the notice on Thursday, January 19.The meeting said that the party will stand behind the prime minister in adopting a stance that is correct, respectful and constitutional.The meeting also appreciated the support extended to the leaders of the government and the Party by all coalition partners and thanked them for it.The meeting reiterated confidence in the leadership of Co Chairman President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani.
