Qamar Zaman Kaira said that PPP respects the judiciary and the PM will appear before SC on Jan 19.
The PPP Information Secretary, Qamar Zaman Kaira on Monday said that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) respects the judiciary and the Prime Minister will appear before the apex court on Jan 19.Talking to media persons outside the Parliament House, Kaira referred attack of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers on the Supreme Court during the nineties and said the PPP will never repeat the history as it believes in the independence of judiciary.The Supreme Court had summoned the then Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif, but the PML-N workers attacked the apex court, he added.He said there is no confrontation among the state institutions. Replying to a question, Kaira said a parliamentary commission should be constituted to fix the responsibility on those who had created the gas and power crises.The present government has added 3400 MW power to national grid while the previous governments had not initiated any mega project, he added.Answering another question, he said the government is finalizing a strategy to provide relief to the people. The next budget will be relief-oriented.
