ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that “Operation Dwarka” during the September War is a shining chapter in naval history, as the Pakistan Navy made history by defending the maritime borders on this day.

Paying tribute to the brave sailors on Navy Day, Interior Minister Naqvi said that September 8 is a day to honor the great sacrifices and unparalleled achievements of the courageous sons of the Pakistan Navy. On this day, the Navy defended the maritime frontiers and made history. The fearless men who opened a new chapter of courage and sacrifice on the naval front are the nation’s true heroes.

He said this day is a glowing symbol of bravery, professional skill, and duty. In the 1965 war, the Pakistan Navy drowned the enemy’s pride and proved its superiority on the maritime front.

He added that “Operation Dwarka” during the September War is a brilliant chapter of naval history, in which Pakistan Navy’s warriors destroyed the enemy’s vital coastal installations within minutes, changing the course of the naval battle and foiling the enemy’s plan to attack Karachi. After Operation Dwarka, the Navy remained alert in subsequent encounters, preventing the enemy from daring to strike Karachi.

Naqvi said that the Pakistan Navy astonished the enemy with its professional preparedness, organization, and spirit of sacrifice. Navy Day is not only a historic day but also a continuation of that pledge, spirit, and conviction that flourished across the vast seas.

The minister stated that today, the Pakistan Navy has emerged as a strong and effective maritime force with modern technology, missile systems, and self-reliance. Its participation in international naval exercises, leadership role in regional maritime security, and active diplomatic engagements have become its source of pride.

He further said that the nation is proud of its maritime guardians, who, with professional expertise and strategy, have made the sea frontiers impregnable. The Pakistan Navy is determined to keep alive the spirit of September 8, 1965.
