QUETTA (Dunya News) - The Pakistan Railways on Sunday suspended Jaffar Express and Bolan Mail for three days amid security threats in Quetta.

The Jaffar Express will remain suspended on August 11, 13, and 14.

Specifically, the train scheduled to depart Quetta for Peshawar on August 11 will not operate.

Similarly, the Jaffar Express from Peshawar to Quetta will be suspended on August 13, and the return service from Quetta to Peshawar will not run on August 14.

The decision comes amid heightened security alerts in the region, though no specific threats were publicly disclosed.

Earlier in the day, the Jaffar Express has once again come under attack as six carriages of the train derailed after an explosion on the railway track near Mastung.

According to railway officials, the blast occurred near the Spezand Railway Station when the Jaffar Express was en route from Quetta to Peshawar. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.

Security forces swiftly cordoned off the area, and an investigation is underway.

It may be recalled that the Jaffar Express has been a target of terrorists for some time.
