QUETTA (Dunya News) – The Jaffar Express has once again come under attack as six carriages of the train derailed after an explosion on the railway track near Mastung.
According to railway officials, the blast occurred near the Spezand Railway Station when the Jaffar Express was en route from Quetta to Peshawar. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
Security forces swiftly cordoned off the area, and an investigation is underway.
It may be recalled that the express train has been a target of terrorists for some time. A few days ago, the train's track was damaged in a bomb blast. Before that, unidentified terrorists fired at the pilot engine of the Jaffar. On 11 March, the train was attacked by Baloch militants near Bolan who took 380 passengers aboard hostage. Security forces conducted a successful operation and killed 33 attackers and rescued the hostages.
