KARACHI (Dunya News) – Two persons lost their lives and one sustained serious injuries when an accident between a motorcycle and a dumber took place in Federal B Area here on Saturday night.
Those perished in the accident are stated to be brother and sister, and the injured is stated to be their father.
The accident sparked anger and frustration among the onlookers, who vented their indignation on the accident by setting seven dumpers on fire and torturing a dumper driver.
On information, police reached the spot and tried to appease the angry mob and warned them against taking law into their own hands.
The victims of the accident were identified as Mahnoor and Ahmad Raza. The Dumper Association blocked Karachi Super Highway, causing traffic disruption on roads.
After the highway block, long lines of traffic could be seen on roads. Police have arrested 10 people on suspicion of burning dumpers and torturing the driver.
Deaths in accidents involving motorcycles and dumpers are not unusual in Karachi. In recent past, many such accidents were reported, which led to an exchange of harsh words between the MQM leadership and the ministers of Sindh government.
Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori had warned the government that if it could not stop such accidents, the people of Karachi would themselves take action against dumper drivers.
