PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has said that lasting peace is linked to a just resolution of the Kashmir issue, and the region will remain deprived of peace and stability until the dispute is resolved in accordance with the wishes of the Kashmiri people.

In a message on ‘Youm-e-Istehsal’, being observed today (Aug 5), Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur expressed strong solidarity with the Kashmiri people and condemned the unilateral and illegal actions of the Indian government.

He stated that exactly six years ago, on August 5, 2019, the Modi government revoked Kashmir’s special constitutional status, beginning a new chapter of oppression and injustice. This move by India not only violates United Nations resolutions but also poses a serious concern for the international community and human rights organizations.

Ali Amin Gandapur criticized India, which calls itself the world’s largest democracy, for decades of gross human rights violations in Kashmir. He emphasized that the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination is a fundamental human right that cannot be suppressed through state repression and violence.

He stressed that lasting peace in the region is directly tied to a just solution of the Kashmir dispute, and until the Kashmiri people’s aspirations are met, the region will remain deprived of peace and stability.

Ali Amin Gandapur praised the resilience and determination of the Kashmiri people, saluting the brothers and sisters engaged in the struggle for freedom and honoring the martyrs who sacrificed their lives.

In conclusion, the chief minister reaffirmed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s commitment to continue providing moral, political, and diplomatic support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination and to stand by their struggle in every possible way.
