PM reiterates pledge for Seraiki province

Government will extend all out support for resolution of creation of new provinces, says PM.

Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has assured the National Assembly that the government will extend full support to the bill or the resolution aimed at the creation of new provinces in the country.Speaking in the National Assembly on Friday‚ he said the elected representatives from Seraiki and Hazara regions have held discussions with him on this issue and we are in favour of creation of new province.The Prime Minister said consensus has been evolved on the creation of Seraiki province. He said we should not miss this opportunity to remove the sense of deprivation of the people of the area.He said several resolutions were moved in the Punjab Assembly regarding the creation of Seraiki province but these resolutions were not debated. Therefore we have resorted to the National Assembly to fulfill the demand of the people of the area.About Hazara province Prime Minister said the matter has been referred to the manifesto committee for evolving consensus.
