KP CM Gandapur hosts rare 'Grand Jirga' seeking peace in province

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - A rare scene was witnessed at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister House where the stage was shared by CM Ali Amin Gandapur, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
A ‘Grand Jirga’ was hosted by CM Gandapur seeking peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Members from KP Assembly and leaders of several political parties also attended the Jirga.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan also attended the ‘Grand Jirga’.
CM Gandapur expressed his gratitude to all the political leaders for attending the Jirga.
“We all are here only for the peace in our province,” said chief minister.
He said that the safety of citizens’ lives and property is our foremost responsibility.

He hoped to find a peaceful solution through the Jirga.
The solution to every problem lies in negotiations and therefore we called the Jirga according to the Pashtun traditions, he added.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said that the peace of province is the sole agenda of this Jirga.
He said that negotiation is the key to solving all the issues.
Kundi urged all the parties to engage in negotiations with those who respect the constitution and laws of the country.
