Punjab government is taking various initiatives to protect environment
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz highlighted that ozone layer protection was essential for survival of life on Earth.
Sharing her message on World Ozone Protection Day, Maryam Nawaz stated the anti-environment activities had eroded the ozone layer.
Ozone layer depletion was contributing to climate change, diseases and other challenges.
She said that the Provincial Cabinet has already approved the first ever Comprehensive Climate Resilient Punjab Vision and Action Plan 2024 for environmental protection.
Punjab CM that this Action Plan was meant for flood management, eco-system infrastructure, food security and heat waves.
She revealed that the Solar Panel’ program was being launched for environment protection and cheap electricity.
It is pertinent to note that the Punjab CM taking over her office introduced various projects for environment protection including e-bikes and ban on plastic bags.
- Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated Pakistan’s strong commitment to the preservation of the ozone layer, marking World Ozone Day.
In his message, the prime minister emphasized the crucial role of global collaboration in addressing ozone depletion and highlighted Pakistan’s significant contributions to international efforts.
Acknowledging the damage caused by human activities, the prime minister expressed concerns over the depletion of the ozone layer, which resulted in the formation of the ozone hole, posing severe risks to life on earth.
