LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has achieved a milestone within 100 days under the leadership of Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz. 

PDMA DG Irfan Ali Kathia stated that six trucks loaded with ration bags were dispatched to 2,500 families affected by rain-related incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. 

On the direction of Punjab CM, financial aid was provided to families of 32 individuals who died due to lightning strikes in Punjab. Financial assistance was provided to farmers whose crops were destroyed by rains and fire. 

Effective measures were taken across the province against heatwave prevention. Residents of Cholistan were provided with water bowsers for clear drinking water.

He also stated that mock exercises were also arranged across all districts of the province for floods. Pakistan Army and Rescue’s recommendations, boats, life jackets, camps, and other essential items were provided.

PDMA DG also announced that Forest Department was also equipped with firefighting equipment on the instruction of Punjab CM. Effective measures have also been taken for the safety and security of citizens and protection of forests in Murree.

Houses affected by landslides in Murree were granted financial assistance for redevelopment.

Think Tank Green Saver was established for climate change which will benefit to mitigate the smog issue.

PDMA is on the frontline in crisis time and available for citizens on the direction of Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz.
