Earthquake jolts parts of Balochistan twice in a day

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale jolted several cities of Balochistan late Tuesday night, Dunya News reported. 

This was the second earthquake in Balochistan in a day. 

The tremors were felt in various parts of the province including Noshki, Chagai, Chaman, Qila Abdullah, Pishin, Mastung, Dalbadin and several other areas.

People came out of their homes in panic and started reciting verses from the Holy Quran. No loss of life and property was reported from any part of Balochistan. 

According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre, Islamabad, the epicentre of the earthquake was located 166 kilometres southwest of Quetta at the depth of 30 kilometres.

Hours earlier, tremors were felt in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan. People came out of their houses reciting Kalima Tayyaba. 

Earthquake shocks were felt in several areas of Balochistan early in the morning. The intensity of the earthquake was recorded at 5.4 on Richter scale.

The depth of the earthquake was 35 kilometres underground while the epicentre was 150km southwest of Quetta.
