Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan assemblies' members to take oath today

The session of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly will begin at 11 am
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Plenary sessions of newly-elected assemblies of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan will be held today (Wednesday) in which members will take oath.
According to the schedule announced by the secretariat of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, the session will begin at 11 am. After the oath taking, the process to elect new speaker will begin. Nomination papers for the offices of speaker and deputy speaker can be filed till 5 pm.
The 145-member Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly consists of 115 general seats. There are 26 seats reserved for women and eight for non-Muslims.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) backed candidates won 86 seats in general elections held on February 8. The JUI-F bagged seven seats, the PML-N five, the PPP four, the PTI-Parliamentary two and the ANP one.
Meanwhile, the newly-elected members of Balochistan Assembly will also take oath today. The session, which will begin at 3 pm, will be presided over by Zamrak Khan Achakzai as the speaker is out of the city.
Balochistan Assembly comprises 65 seats. Of them, 51 are general seats, while 11 seats are reserved for women and three seats are reserved for minorities.
In the Feb 8 elections, the PPP and the JUI-F won 11 seats apiece, while the PML-N returned on 10 and the BAP on four seats.
