ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday withdrew the second show-cause notice issued to the deputy commissioner (DC) for not attending court hearing. 

Justice Babar Sattar of the IHC conducted hearing of the miscellaneous application of the Islamabad DC. The DC appeared in court along with his lawyer Raja Rizwan Abbasi. 

The court accepted the request to withdraw the show-cause notice but dismissed the request for exemption from attending court on March 1.

The IHC said in its order that the verdict earlier reserved would be pronounced on Friday. The court said in the order that the accused must be present on the day of the verdict. The IHC dismissed the plea for exemption. 

The court said, "There are two to three days left. After Friday he can proceed on his foreign tour." The verdict in the contempt of court case against the Islamabad DC would be pronounced on March 1. 

It may be recalled that the Islamabad DC had moved court for grant of permission to go abroad to perform Umrah.
