PTI receives nomination papers for intra-party elections slated for March 3

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) received nomination papers from candidates for its intra-party elections by the Sunday deadline of 3pm.

According to details, candidates from across the country submitted their nomination papers to returning officers in the Centre and provinces.   

The PTI Federal Election Commission had appointed separate returning officers for receiving papers for party's central office and provincial chapters. 

For the position of party chairman, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, nominee of the PTI founder, submitted his nomination papers.

For the party’s central office, a 15-member panel submitted their nomination papers under the leadership of Umar Ayub, nominee for general secretary endorsed by the PTI founder.

Ashraf Qureshi from Sindh, Muhammad Islam from Balochistan, and Naveed Anjum from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have also submitted the nomination papers for the chairman's position.

Besides Dr Yasmeen Rashid from Punjab, Muhammad Khan Madni and Asad Hanif have submitted the nomination papers for their respective panels for the party’s Punjab chapter.

For the PTI Sindh chapter, two panels submitted nomination papers, led by nominee of the PTI founder Haleem Adil Sheikh and Khawand Buksh.

Apart from Dr Manzoor Baloch, nominee from Balochistan endorsed by the PTI founder, five other individuals along with their panels submitted their nomination papers. Among them are Syed Jafar Agha, Nawabzada Aminullah, Daood Shah, Syed Abdul Sadiq and Babar Marghzani.

The nomination papers for the panel under the PTI founder’s nominee Ali Amin Gandapur were also received from the party’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter.

In accordance with the prescribed schedule, PTI's intra-party elections will be held nationwide on March 3.
