Party also names Salaar Khan Kakar as Balochistan CM candidate
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Barrister Gohar Khan on Thursday named Mian Aslam as PTI candidate for Punjab chief minister.
Addressing a press conference outside Adiala Jail, Gohar Khan also nominated Salaar Khan Kakar as PTI candidate for the chief minister role in Balochistan, while Aqibullah Khan has been chosen for the speaker of the KP Assembly.
He also said the PTI would soon reveal the candidates for the National Assembly speaker and deputy speaker.
Addressing speculations about potential alliances, Gohar Khan firmly denied any talks with the PPP and clarified the PTI's stance against forming a coalition with PML-N, PPP, and MQM-P. He reiterated the party's dedication to serving the public interest, emphasizing their rejection of power-sharing arrangements.
Asserting their role as a vigilant opposition, Gohar Khan highlighted the PTI's readiness to form governments in Punjab, KP, and at the federal level.
Expressing concerns over the results in Feb 8 polls, Gohar Khan announced nationwide peaceful protests on Saturday (Feb 17). He extended invitations to various political entities, including GDA, JI, JUI-F, TLP, ANP, and others, who share grievances regarding alleged electoral misconduct.
Gohar Khan urged public participation in the forthcoming protest, underlining the critical nature of recent elections and the PTI's commitment to safeguarding its legitimacy.
