LAHORE (Dunya News) - Dr Yasmin Rashid, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former provincial health minister, on Wednesday took a dig at PML-N by asking its leaders to be ashamed of their conduct in general elections.

Speaking outside the Lahore anti-terrorism court, she accused the PML-N of looting public money and said they were now attempting to steal the public mandate through rigging.

She asked the PML-N to respect the public mandate, emphasising that the nation had made its decision on Feb 8 by voting for PTI-backed independent candidates.

She issued a warning to the victorious PTI-backed independent candidates, advising them against joining any other party or forming alliances. She emphasised that the nation would neither forget nor forgive them if they betrayed the voters.

Dr Rashid also lauded the loyal and enthusiastic supporters who voted for the party in an atmosphere of fear and injustice.

She highlighted the challenges such as deprivation of the electoral symbol, restrictions on election campaign, and obstruction of the PTI's path in various ways. Despite these obstacles, she said, the public made efforts, identified the candidates' electoral symbols, and cast their votes in favour of the PTI.

She felicitated the PTI workers who emerged triumphant despite facing difficulties both inside and outside jails.
