LAHORE (Dunya News) - Former prime minister and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif has sought a clear mandate as the polling is under way across the country.

The three-time prime minister was speaking to media on Thursday after casting his vote in Lahore’s constituency NA-128.

“For God’s sake, don’t talk about coalition government,” the PML-N supremo said.

He added that it's the need of the hour to get a clear majority for any party.

The former prime minister reached the polling station in NA-128 with PML-N chief organiser Maryam Nawaz. The candidate of Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) from NA-128, Awn Chaudhry, accompanied the PML-N leader.

The PML-N didn’t field its candidate in the constituency as part of seat adjustment with Jehangir Tareen-led IPP.

Speaking to media after casting his vote, Nawaz Sharif asked the people to leave their homes for polling stations.

“It is very important for any party to get clear mandate,” Sharif said.

Criticising the PTI, he said the party had destroyed our society and the PML-N would rebuild it after winning the election.
